Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager-Boston, MA

Denoting "senior" in the title of this commercial lines client management role is an important distinction for this level of position within the insurance agency.  This is a direct extension of the sales executives and be charged with running meetings (including external client appointments), handling larger and complex accounts and also balancing some marketing and consulting duties.  You'll work alongside a couple of other senior level colleagues that you can learn from, share ideas with and also help manage workflows down to the rest of the customer service team.


Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager Responsibilities:


  • Manage the daily administrative functions of an assigned block of property and casualty business.  Delegate transactional tasks to a service rep but take on the majority of complex policy review, renewal handling, coverage enhancements, financial analysis, claims and marketing.
  • Handle all coverage advising and direct communication with clients; bring the producer in on issues, major changes or in preparation for on-site reviews and presentations. Be responsible for managing some of those client meeetings to discuss rates, premiums, exposures and service offerings from the agency.
  • Prepare marketing submissions with responsibility for correspondence and negotiations with underwriters; review records for accuracy and also loss history for areas that can be cleaned up and better managed to achieve optimal pricing.




Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with at least five (5) years of commercial account management experience for another retail agency, brokerage or consulting firm. 
  • Willing to participate or even facilitate training with the other service team members; can help with policies and procedures that meet the agency's best practice standards. 
  • Experience as the lead point of contact on middle market accounts (meaning the account at least generates $100k-$200k in premium). 
  • State insurance license.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and also an agency management system like AMS, EPIC or Sagitta.
