Senior Marketing Representative-Chicago, IL

Our client is a specialty provider of workers compensation products that is looking for an experienced professional to oversee the business development efforts in some of its Midwest territory. Chicago will comprise the majority of this region which means an individual needs to be based in the metro area to service local brokers.  Additional travel will be throughout parts of Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.  An ideal candidate is technically proficient with larger, complex workers compensation risks and has existing market knowledge, i.e. relationships, with brokers in this footprint.

Senior Marketing Representative Responsibilities:
  • Foster relationships with target agencies and brokers in the assigned region. Routinely visit agencies to develop an understanding of their needs. Educate them on your products, underwriting appetite, process and assistance with large and complex workers compensation cases. Also help train on technologies and changes to existing products online.
  • Monitor the binding activity and retention performance of your group.  Communicate with counterparts of successful marketing strategies, opportunities for co-branding with the property and casualty team.
  • Help new brokers and agents through the appointment process; identify key characteristics and understand their level of interest in doing business with the company.  Assist with licensing and any other new relationship integration.
  • Attend company and industry events designed to interact with your agency base and brand the company’s capabilities.

Senior Marketing Representative Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least five (5) years of related insurance marketing and sales experience; must have depth of experience working with workers compensation products.
  • Sales experience includes opening doors to new relationships, fostering and maintaining current ones and having an understanding of how to relate to various levels of production and executive level contacts.  Has achieved sales success in a prior role because you can articulate a value proposition, know how to overcome objections and can execute a marketing strategy.
  • Existing contacts and history developing business in the Chicago insurance market is required.
