Vice President of Risk Control Services-Des Moines, IA

My client is part of one of the nation’s premier commercial lines property casualty insurance providers and are a leading national commercial agribusiness insurer. They are seeking a Vice President of Risk Control Services to lead and provide strategic direction to the loss control department, ensuring superior client loss control services and achieving the company risk management business plan objectives. This position will be a key member of the Senior Management team of this dynamic and growing organization.


Vice President of Risk Control Services Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Agribusiness Risk Control Specialists located throughout the country by providing direction, structure and resources relative to agribusiness, food and fiber industries and clients served.
  • Develop and coordinate risk control strategy with the Underwriting and Claims areas.
  • High level of involvement in acquisition of new mid to large market accounts.
  • Oversee all loss control strategies, including the formulation, development and implementation of loss control standards, policies, practices and services.
  • Develop and implement best practices for the risk control area.
  • Develop and administer risk control budget and resources.


Vice President of Risk Control Services Requirements:

  • Seven to ten years agribusiness management experience with a multi-line insurance company excelling in performing loss control duties. 
  • A degree in occupational safety or equivalent. Solid knowledge of safety regulations, standards and techniques for loss prevention is required. 
  • Professional designations, such as CSP, ALCM, ARM or CPCU are preferred. 
  • Proven leadership abilities. 
  • Proven strategic thinker.
