As a Commercial Lines Account Manager for this independent agency in Omaha you'll work within a professional, sophisticated service team to support a client base that needs assistance with policy administration and renewal management.  The agency feels very strongly about career progression and wants to offer those opportunities for the person in his role.  To work your way up in the company you'll have to handle this existing book which means a combination of administrative duties like certificates and id cards as well as the consultative work such as renewal management and underwriting negotiations.

Commercial Lines Account Manager Responsibilities:

  • Assist the producer in managing existing clients, both cultivating relationships with insureds but also taking on most of the daily service requirements.
  • Manage the renewal process which includes gathering and analyzing claims and loss run information, preparing submissions, completing applications, obtaining quotes from underwriters and writing proposals.
  • Promptly reply to insureds with coverage and billing questions; complete certificate requests; review client contracts.
  • Develop relationships with agency's staff and work closely with other sales and service teams to maximize opportunities to cross selling, upselling and referrals.

Commercial Lines Account Manager Requirements:

  • College degree is preferred; high school diploma is required.  Commensurate experience, continuing education or a professional designation will be considered in lieu of a college degree.
  • At least three (3) years of property and casualty insurance experience in a customer service role.
  • Strong attention to detail; highly organized; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
