First and foremost you must be comfortable in that front line sales role. However, because of the agency's approach as a producer you will still be heavily involved in marketing, client consultation and risk management. Additionally, this hire will be made with a succession vision in mind. The group wants to blend some elements of its traditional approach that has made it a great firm throughout the years with new influences that come from the executives looking for a sales leader who adopts these same philosophies. As you become entrenched in this position you'll be asked to play a role in that integration.
Qualified candidates have at least 7-10 years of established sales success in affluent, high net worth personal lines sales for a retail agency, brokerage or consulting firm. Though you are free to develop business on a national basis this position will be based in the Tri-State area. There are immediate business development opportunities in this region for you to capitalize on, so you won't have to reach much beyond your natural market for opportunities to form new clients, referral streams and cross selling connections.
