Account Executive roles are becoming more and more diverse with insurance agencies building dual responsibilities in sales, marketing and team leadership into what is traditionally considered a service role. This position is unique in that regard and will combine high level client management duties with filling in parts of a managerial gap within the agency. Additionally, it will also help advance several areas of program development the agency is working on which may turn into association or captive arrangements.
Senior Commercial Insurance Account Executive Responsibilities:
- First and foremost you’ll be participate in strategic client service plans, directly interfacing with clients on program design, renewal strategies, claims issues and service deliverables from the brokerage. To fulfill these duties at a high level you must offer a broad property and casualty coverage background in middle market and risk management sized accounts often with creative funding arrangements.
- Second, you can work closely with markets and external partners, including even groups of similarly classified clients, to create proprietary programs, associations or captives. Areas of interest will be in vertical niches like energy and workers compensation. Its critical you can manage insurance company relationships and help determine the structure of proprietary programs.
- Third, you will help lead the account management team. Team leadership will include process and workflow oversight, employee training and development and interviewing and hiring.
Senior Commercial Insurance Account Executive Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Highly desired candidates have advanced educational achievements (MBA, Masters, CPCU, ARM, CIC).
- At least 5-10 years of experience within an insurance agency at the senior account manager or account executive level. Duties involving marketing, program development and direct client consulting is important.
- Prior team leadership or formal management is helpful.
