Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager-Chicago, IL

Our client is a regional independent insurance agency who has been in business for over fifty years and ranks among the Top 100 largest agencies in the country.  They are currently in need of a Senior Account Manager in their commercial lines department.  The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience working with larger accounts, especially aerospace or defense contractors.

Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager Responsibilities:

  • Provide first line support for producers in the daily service of existing and prospective clients.
  • Offer prompt, accurate, and courteous service to clients, producers, and company personnel.
  • Provide a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding, and servicing accounts.
  • Participate in pre-renewal and renewal meetings.
  • Evaluate current programs and collaborate with producer to recommend market strategy and coverage options.
  • Identify and recommend additional products, services and coverage levels that will enhance the client program.
  • Oversee the marketing process, comparing quote options from various underwriters while looking for and presenting deficiencies in quotations.
  • Successfully negotiate with carriers to obtain rate relief.
  • Review proposals for accuracy and to ensure best coverage options are reflected.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of more complex insurance programs such as retros, large deductibles, and multilayer plans.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and understanding of markets, policies, and products and shares information with peers.

Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of senior level account management experience for a retail insurance agency.
  • State P&C license required with additional professional desigations (i.e. CPCU, ARM, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with defense contractors, aerospace industry and/or private equity a huge plus.
