Our client is a
reinsurer with worldwide operations. They currently offer an opportunity to join
their company in their property & casualty treaty and specialty underwriting
group as a Senior Treaty Referral Underwriter/Practice Leader role in their New
York location. This position is accountable for technical support for worldwide
underwriting guidelines and underwriting decisions.
Senior Treaty
Referral Underwriter / Practice Leader Responsibilities:
- Act as the focal point within the Property &Casualty organization on treaties underwriting: define and regularly update the underwriting guidelines, make binding underwriting recommendations on specific deals and contribute to develop company’s expertise on treaties.
- Review underwriting decisions on major/non-standard deals and make binding underwriting recommendations
- Spread the knowledge, collect local input on market practices, as well as client’s needs and competitive intelligence.
- Support underwriters on large deals negotiations.
- Monitor large contracts and coordinate pricing, reserving and claims teams
Senior Treaty
Referral Underwriter / Practice Leader Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; CPCU or other industry designation preferred.
- 10/15 years experienced in reinsurance underwriting with successful track record treaties underwriting.
- Diversified experience in underwriting (property, casualty, motors…).
- Actuarial experience is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience of US reinsurance markets.
- Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
