Group Employee Benefits Producer-New Orleans, LA

Our client is an independent insurance agency with unique growth opportunities in its New Orleans office. At present the local office is comprised mostly of property and casualty professionals with cross selling and new business origination on the life and health side handled from a different branch. This is an expansion position; a terrific opportunity for someone with validation experience as a group benefits producer to build a book as a locally rooted producer. Your primary charge in this role is business development however you’ll be asked to participate in strategizing on marketing and renewal projects with the agency’s entire sales team located in other states. It’s important your technical knowledge be in the 100+ employee group market so you can lead the department’s growth in a true middle market direction.

Group Employee Benefits Producer Responsibilities:
  • Organically develop a book of business focused on the 100+ employee segment in state with particular emphasis in the New Orleans market as well as the I-10 corridor to Baton Rouge and north Louisiana.
  • Additional areas of interest are relationships in Houston, Dallas, the Gulf Coast and Florida.
  • Take advantages of the agency’s referral sources including existing property and casualty clients, ties to the financial services sector and local business support groups.
  • Play an active role in ongoing client consulting ranging from participation renewal management to involvement in technology integration, compliance, enrollments and account rounding.

Group Employee Benefits Producer Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 3-5 years of group employee benefits sales experience with an agency or broker where you’re directly prospecting to the insured.
  • Active state insurance license.
  • Familiarity with the regional insurance market; natural networks and existing business contacts is an ideal starting point to beginning in this role.
