Responsible for the management of a team of underwriters and junior underwriters, involved in the production and servicing of a book of commercial property and casualty risks.

  • Mentoring and development of team

Underwriting Unit Supervisor Requirements:
  • 10+ years of underwriting experience

This is a unique opportunity for a strong technical professional who also has an entrepreneurial spirit to be part of an expansion.

Senior Employee Benefits Underwriting Analyst Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance to producers and consultants related to analysis, projections, and coverage issues.
  • Operate as a consultant to internal staff as well as clients, assisting clients with a range of complex issues and needs.
  • Provide underwriting analysis services to internal staff and to clients according to their needs and strategic interests, assisting in retaining clients.
  • Assist in the sales process through production of financial projections on large accounts and related underwriting analysis.
  • Support internal staff in a manner that will effectively relieve them of the need to recreate technical materials for a marketing and/or renewal analysis.
  • Act as a resource regarding industry trends and technologies for account service and consulting, new sales, and additional sales to existing clients.

Senior Employee Benefits Underwriting Analyst Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in mathematics, finance, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in a medical underwriting role.
  • Knowledge of self-funding a huge plus.
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong skills with MS Suite

Program Underwriter responsibilities:

Commercial Marketing Specialist-Houston, TX

The function of a Commercial Marketing Specialist is to provide underwriting support as well as program design and market knowledge to the sales and service teams within this independent insurance brokerage.  When utilized to its fullest extent a centralized marketing team incredibly beneficial to the due diligence process with large, complex and unusual cases.  It also brings a level of sophistication and support the producers and client management team can lean on during very active renewal seasons.


Commercial Marketing Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the effective marketing of property and casualty accounts to companies and brokers in accordance with the practices, policies and procedures of the agency.
  • Market all lines of commercial insurance and directly impact revenue goals through the speed and efficiency at which you work with the intention securing a speedy turnaround with competitive rates and terms.  
  • Pre-underwrite commercial accounts within insurance company delegated underwriting authority, guidelines, and procedures; complete applications, analyze loss information, etc.
  • Act as account liaison for the producer in dealing with other departments of the agency for quoting of specialized lines of coverage.
  • Effectively build relationships with insurance company underwriters through a pattern of professional risk submissions, visitations and sound negotiations.


Commercial Marketing Specialist Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of commercial insurance experience heavily involved in marketing, account placement and carrier relationship building.
  • Specific industry expertise isn't required though a lot of these accounts are industrial based like in manufacturing, construction, oil and gas and professional lines.  Broad knowledge of property and casualty plans is required.
  • Excellent presentation skills; comfortable being out of the office with the sales team to discuss coverage plans with clients.

Large Account Property Underwriting Manager Responsibilities

Commercial Lines Production Underwriter-Raleigh, NC

Our client is a MGA/Wholesale firm offering comprehensive coverage for retail agency clients at competitive premiums.  Their staff has experience that ranges from a complete comprehension of risk management methods and techniques to specialized approaches in the rating, placement and servicing of liquor liability, commercial property and casualty accounts and workers compensation programs. They presently offer an opportunity to join their underwriting team in the Raleigh / Durham, NC area. This is a production oriented position requiring you to work closely to develop new retail agency relationships that will funnel business to the organization.


Commercial Lines Production Underwriter Responsibilities

  • Analyze, evaluate, select, rate and qualify prospective commercial lines business for successful placement within one of the company's brokerage markets.
  • Achieve established production goals focusing on growth through premium production, retained income and underwriting profit.
  • Prepare submissions, quotations and rating for new business; for renewals remain actively involved in following the account's development and providing necessary customer service to agents.
  • Focus on relationship development with agents in assigned territory; set a marketing schedule.


Commercial Lines Production Underwriter Requirements
  • Three (3) or more years commercial lines underwriting experience.
  • Ability to manage the workflow of a large volume of submissions; you will be responsible for all administration and underwriting up to the point of binding.
  • Previous experience within the MGA/Wholesale area with established relationships with retail agencies in NC, VA, SC and GA.
  • Active state insurance license or able to obtain one within 120 days of hire.
  • Strong written and oral communication; comfortable working in the field, marketing and branding the company's capabilities in underwriting and brokerage.
