Group Benefits Account Manager-Jackson, MS

A knowledgeable, experienced account manager directly contributes to an insurance agency’s sales success.  Without a right hand person handling client consultation, renewals and policy administration producers would be forced into handling these items instead of being out of the office drumming up new business.  In this instance the producer you’ll support has been hugely successful in generating a significant number of new group employee benefits accounts annually.  Many clients are dealing with reform issues and renew at the beginning of the year making this need even more critical.

Group Benefits Account Manager Responsibilities:
  • Provide marketing and client services for designated prospects and clients managing the submission (RFP) process, securing information to effectively market to all carrier partners, preparing all new and renewal submissions for marketing, analyzing data, reviewing proposals, completing enrollments and implementing communication strategies with the client.

  • Act as a liaison between the client and insurance companies in order to resolve all normal service issues regarding billing, claims, eligibility and escalated customer service issues.

Group Benefits Account Manager Requirements:

Group Employee Benefits Client Manager-Chicago, IL

As a Group Employee Benefits Client Manager you’ll serve as an integral part of the service process handling direct client communication, the on-boarding of new accounts and several aspects of the renewal process.   This agency’s business development process is very unique which makes this role challenging for an experienced benefits account manager.  Most important in this position is your ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt well to changes that pop up with clients spread out across a national footprint.

Group Employee Benefits Client Manager Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strong internal resource to the sales executives who will rely on you for information pertaining to specific policies and programs, market options, pricing plans and status updates on projects.
  • Work into the details of your clients’ plans with full understanding of group medical and ancillary programs, coverage gaps and challenges facing the renewal and RFP process.
  • Coordinate marketing efforts with your client management colleagues in Chicago and other locations to manage workloads, vendor relationships and mentorship of junior associates.

Group Employee Benefits Client Manager Requirements:

  • At least four (4) years of retail agency experience in a similar account management role; more is desirable as the company has a very active workload of self-funded accounts.  An individual with senior account management experience in plan design, underwriting calculations, rate structures, funding alternatives and compliance can be a great match for this role.
  • The agency offers career advancement to its successful employees and therefore looks for a similar track record of upward mobility, continuing education, and advancement from applicants.
  • State insurance license.
*Salary plus bonus opportunity and full benefits are available.  This is not a high travel position.

Please contact Scott Thompson for immediate confidential consideration and additional details.

Group Employee Benefits Producer-Houston, TX

Our client is an independent insurance agency with unique growth opportunities in its Houston office. For the company to achieve its growth vision employee benefits must play a more balanced revenue role than it does today.  In some respects this is an expansion position; a terrific opportunity for a producer with validated experience to be locally rooted and focused on personal production but with a greater department goal in mind.  Your ability to propel the agency’s benefits division forward will open doors for you to play a bigger part in strategic decisions including how and with whom the sales team grows, how resources are positions and what marketing programs are instituted.

Group Employee Benefits Producer Responsibilities:
  • Organically develop a personal book of group employee benefits; though internal cross sale opportunities are available its important you’re less reliant on these types of leads being how benefits business is written.  What is most ideal is that the perception of the benefits team changes because of your door opening abilities meaning the P&C team could benefit from leads through your client base as much as the reverse could be true.  To do so means you have established business ties locally and in other parts of Texas (including Dallas) and along the Gulf South into Florida.
  • Play an active role in ongoing client consulting ranging from participation renewal management to involvement in technology integration, compliance, enrollments and account rounding.

Group Employee Benefits Producer Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least five (5) years of group employee benefits sales experience with an agency or broker where you’re directly prospecting to the insured.
  • Active state insurance license.
  • Familiarity with the regional insurance market; natural networks and existing business contacts is an ideal starting point to beginning in this role.
