Employee Benefits Client Service Manager Responsibilities
Develop, enhance, and solidify client relationships by implementing and monitoring best practices and setting clear expectations and timelines.
Responsible for carrier management and contracts.
Assist in performance evaluation process for the team.
Coordinate and implement training programs.
Lead the department cross-selling efforts, including account rounding.
Carry out strategic initiatives, marketing, client advocacy, and client presentations.

8-10 years of industry experience, preferably in a retail agency or brokerage setting.
Previous management experience required.
State Life & Health license required.

Senior Vice President, Employee Benefits Practice Leader - Midwest



This is a senior level executive position in the Midwest with a reputable insurance brokerage. The firm seeks an experienced professional with practice leader qualifications to oversee the non-sales operations of its employee benefits division. This is a challenging role that requires an innovative, forward thinking business professional who first and foremost has deep health and welfare insurance knowledge. You're viewed by the client service as the expert on self-funded group medical plans, marketing and client management. A highly desired candidate draws on their previous experience as a lead consultant or Account Executive in their past experience. 

Additional skills necessary for this role is involvement in project management, operations and business development (though not as a producer).
A major component of this role is business leadership. Its critical a qualified individual have demonstrated success building cohesive teams, developing internal processes and procedures and training and developing talent. Through your success you can confidently recommend improvements, make changes you know are necessary and take action on items that improve the company's ability to service its clients. Team building and morale are critical goals of this role. This will come through appropriate communication between the sales and service team and clear definition in current and future roles available to the account managers and account executives. Finally, in these initiatives you're able to spearhead the agency's goal of upgrading its client deliverables.

Employee Benefits Practice Leader - New Orleans, LA


Our client is a large regional and national agency who is growing and currently looking for an Employee Benefits Practice Leader in their New Orleans area office.  They are seeking a dynamic individual who will bring high energy, good work ethic, and an entrepreneurial spirit to the position.  You will also provide a vision and plan for sustained profitable growth of the practice, reflected in an annual budget input complete with commentary regarding economic factors, legislative developments, carriers/markets, and customer segments.



Employee Benefits Practice Leader Responsibilities
Accountable for all aspects of sales and service within the territory.
Ensure that budget targets for new business sales, retention, and other income are achieved while maintaining appropriate expense controls.
Maintain detailed familiarity with periodic financial and production data, able to articulate the basis for deviation from plan and to recommend plan changes mid-term that will improve results.
Review and monitor the sales/retention plans of all assigned client service team, while providing coaching, mentoring, and leadership.
Provide personal leadership in promoting new business sales through a variety of activities and responsibilities.
Act as primary representative for the agency in the territory both in the community and in the carrier markets.
Maintain detailed knowledge of relevant carrier trends and product offerings.

Employee Benefits Practice Leader Requirements
Bachelors degree preferred.
More than 10 years of progressive employee benefits experience, preferably with a retail insurance agency or broker.
Ability to travel frequently.

Vice President, Business Development (Sales Manager)- Cedar Rapids or Des Moines, IA

I'm working with a terrific client that is looking to hire a new sales manager.  Our client is a well respected agency that excels in both commercial P&C and benefits with multiple locations that is looking for a seasoned producer to join them as a sales manager.  Their goal is to have this individual work with motivating existing producers, bring new producers into the mix and help transition acquisitions into the company culture.  While they are willing to consider someone that wants to keep producing, their first goal is to have this individual focus solely on management with no production responsibilities.  Compensation is competitive and there are ownership opportunities.



Vice President, Business Development

Our client is an independent insurance agency deeply rooted in the Midwest insurance market.  As the company continues to grow the need for strategic leadership is important.  This position, Vice President, Business Development, will balance the operational responsibilities of leading a full service brokerage with the visionary design needed for employee development, acquisitions and sales management.

Vice President, Business Development Leader Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies to improve sales success, account retention and service standards.
Supervise division managers holding several divisions (property and casualty, group benefits and financial services) accountable for the fulfillment of the agency's strategic growth goals with cross selling, acquisition integration and business development expansion major focal points.
Participate in recruiting, producer training and staff development.
Play an active role in agency marketing including carrier relationships, program development and geographic expansion.

Vice President, Business Development Leader Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is preferred, commensurate experience will be considered; advanced college education or insurance accreditation (CPCU, RHU) is helpful.
At least 10-15 years of successful involvement within the insurance industry; must have in depth knowledge of agency operations, sales management and marketing.
Demonstrated ability to lead sales teams, develop and implement sales goals, participate in P&L plans, promote growth and diversity of your company's product platform and geographic expansion.

Group Benefits Account Manager
Provide marketing and client services for designated prospects and clients managing the submission (RFP) process, securing information to effectively market to all carrier partners, preparing all new and renewal submissions for marketing, analyzing data, reviewing proposals, completing enrollments and implementing communication strategies with the client.
Stay abreast of markets, products, and carrier competitiveness to provide a comprehensive product portfolio to the client.
Act as a liaison between the client and insurance companies in order to resolve all normal service issues regarding billing, claims, eligibility, and other customer service issues.

Group Benefits Account Manager Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is required.
At least three (3) years of group medical client service experience as a Benefits Analyst, Account Coordinator or Benefits Consultant.
Prior experience working for a national brokerage or consulting firm is required.
Prior experience in a client interfacing role with responsibilities for managing direct communication on escalated issues, pricing and coverage changes and enrollments.
Active state L&H license
Organized and excel at meeting deadlines; excellent communicator who can relay important information to Account Executive and Producers while managing expectations with junior level analysts.

Director of Employee Benefits Service

Our client is an independent insurance brokerage experiencing dynamic growth in group benefits.  The agency wants to provide the best consultation and support to its clients; in order to do so the right infrastructure to handle larger accounts, service resources, workflow processes, staff training must be managed by an experienced leader.  This position, Director of Employee Benefits Services, will oversee the agency's entire group benefits account management and account executive teams.  You'll work in close collaboration with the Vice President of Benefits and senior sales leader to implement training, business development and customer service initiatives.

Director of Employee Benefits Services Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementing and monitoring quality control process to ensure agency standards and workflows are followed.
Provide direct supervision to Employee Benefits account managers and assistants; handles all aspects of managing a team, including participating in employee selection, coaching, and evaluation.
Become involved in larger corporate benefits accounts as a Benefits Consultant/Account Executive, specifically on complex plan design or with escalated service issues.
Participate in client review meetings and renewal presentations.

Director of Employee Benefits Services Requirements:
College degree or equivalent experience is required.
At least 7-10 years of group employee benefits insurance experience in a sales and service model working with a staff of at least 5-10 direct reports, clients with 100+ employees and self-funding plans.
At least 3-5 years of management experience dealing with performance management, hiring and firing, compensation review, workflow processes, technology usage and employee development.

Senior Employee Benefits Consultant - Little Rock, AR

This is a terrific opportunity for someone that has large account experience and the desire to work for a regional broker.  Our client is one of the leaders in employee benefits and are seeking someone that has two distinct traits.  First, they need someone with strong technical and analytic skills working with groups as large as 5,000 lives.  Secondly, they need this person to be a very effective communicator that can get their message across to both the clients and to the markets.  This will be a high profile position in the agency working on one of its largest books of business.


Employee Benefits Consultant Job Description
Our client is a large, independent agency with an impeccable reputation based on the tenure and national exposure of their senior leadership. The company's group benefits division is such a strong portion of the agency's identification the client service practice is structured like a consulting firm. This position, Senior Employee Benefits Consultant, is designed to lead all the non-sales duties of larger middle market accounts.  Working closely alongside a senior producer, you are responsible for providing detailed analytical information, running client review meetings and presenting important group benefits information to clients at renewal.  This position has relationship building and analytical components.  It’s absolutely critical that your skills apply equally to both portions of the role.
Senior Employee Benefits Consultant Responsibilities:
Coordinate, develop and execute project plans as well as quarterly and renewal presentations for specific client groups.
Develop and manage long and short range benefit strategies for clients; foster strong client relationships. 
Develop and mentor junior members of the team.
Manage RFP, renewal, and implementation processes.
Benchmark survey data for client plans, summarize and validate reviewed information.
Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Identify and understand negotiable elements of underwriting calculations for all lines of coverage.  Exercise peer group and/or management review in this process periodically.
Manage post-implementation process for all lines of coverage.
Contribute toward company sales initiatives and support revenue management.

Senior Employee Benefits Consultant Qualifications:
7-10 years experience of experience working with group medical plans, mostly self-funded, with an average case size of 500-2,000 ees.
Previous position where you would have gained pertinent experience for this role Benefits Consultant or Account Executive for a retail broker; Financial/Underwriting Analyst or Sales Consultant in a group medical insurance company's national accounts division.
Offer a thorough understanding of all benefit plans (medical, dental, life, STD, LTD, etc) design, rate structures, funding alternatives, claims analysis, census data and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and presentation with advanced writing skills.
Proficient in all areas of Health & Welfare compliance (i.e. HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, 5500, DOL, etc). 
College degree and CEBS Certification or other industry recognized designations preferred.
AR L&H Licensure or commitment to obtaining shortly after hire date.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all levels of internal staff & management, external clients, prospects and vendors; leadership and mentorship qualities.

Senior Employee Benefits Account Manager/Supervisor
Our client is an independent insurance agency experiencing dynamic growth in group benefits.   The team has a need for additional leadership with this role, Senior Benefits Account Manager, Supervisor, overseeing the behind-the-scenes logistics of the client service team.  You'll manage the day-to-day functions of the administrative team while also maintaining a personal book of clients to service.  You'll ensure quality control and best practices are being met.

Senior Benefits Account Manager, Supervisor Responsibilities:
Take the lead role on policy administration, renewal coordination an daily client service of an assigned block of fully funded and self-insured group benefits accounts.
Become involved in complex accounts or ones with escalated customer service issues.
Work with the Employee Benefits Manager to implement training, mentoring, workflow improvements, goal setting and performance plans as needed for the Account Managers and Analysts who report to you.

Senior Benefits Account Manager, Supervisor Requirements:
College degree or minimum equivalent experience is required.
At least six (6) years of insurance company group medical experience (underwriting, sales support and account management experience will be considered) or five (5) years of insurance agency account management/consulting work.
Possession of state L&H license or able to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
Prior team leadership or management experience.
