Our client is a nationally recognized wholesale broker that is progressive in its advancement of specialty product offerings. This position, Vice President of Property, will develop and oversee the creation and branding of the group’s multiple product lines including admitted, high value and excess and surplus divisions. This is a tremendous opportunity to take on full ownership of the residential property lines business unit with development and execution responsibilities over product development, distribution, marketing, staffing and internal systems for residential property.
Vice President of Property Responsibilities:
- Be actively involved in personal lines product development for non-standard, admitted, non-cat, preferred admitted, E&S and coastal property.
- Work closely with current national and regional insurance carriers to build out the partnership on the E&S product set; uncover those that may present themselves in the admitted market. Additionally, find new markets to support these initiatives to achieve three, five and ten year growth goals.
- Develop proprietary automated underwriting platforms for appropriate coverage lines to be offered on a countrywide basis.
- Foster a balanced underwriting portfolio bringing up smaller lines like high valued homeowners or umbrella coverages. Create the brand image and distribution models of all lines with insurance company and retail agency partners.
- Handle the internal business unit management including team development (staffing, training and employee retention), acquisitions (existing lines of business with other wholesalers or of new product lines in an exclusive partnership), web based underwriting portals (including IT vendor selection) and workflows (compliance, underwriting and audits).
Vice President of Property Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with an advanced education is desirable.
- At least five(5) years’ experience negotiating admitted or non-admitted personal lines markets; minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the residential property including coastal risk exposures.
- Minimum of ten (10) years prior wholesale or carrier regional leadership experience.
- Bring experience in branding, distribution (experience developing online quotation platforms is very appealing), marketing (existing retail agency relationships is highly desired) and staffing building and development.
- As the company grows in different regions so too will this division. Travel is an ongoing part of the role, as is training and staff development including supplanting new team members in offices outside of the Mid-Atlantic.
