Commercial Insurance Producer, Agriculture-IA

This Commercial Insurance Producer opportunity will open up Iowa as a new territory with a specific focus on writing agriculture accounts.  This agency is an industry leader in insuring commercial agribusiness with a very robust resource platform including corporate benefits, surety and loss control.  For someone with a history of insurance sales success and experience writing commercial ag accounts, this is a great way to build up a new practice.


Commercial Insurance Producer, Agriculture Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute a business development plan zeroing in on commercial agribusiness accounts located in Iowa.  Target clients will include cooperatives, large farming operations, seed and feed related companies, petroleum and fuel haulers and retailers.
  • Be responsible for originating the accounts but also providing ongoing consulting throughout the year.  Pull in the necessary account management, claims and loss control resources available within the agency. Share strategies and co-brand with sales executives in other regions of the company.
  • Entrench yourself in the state's ag community to aid in your business development efforts but also to strengthen your understanding of challenges in the industry and those unique to Iowa based businesses. 

Commercial Insurance Producer, Agriculture Requirements:


  • At least 4-5 years of commercial insurance sales experience with an agency in Iowa.  Must have successfully written agribusiness related accounts. 
  • Strengths in cold calling, networking and new business origination.  Entrepreneurial spirit, able to open a new territory and work independently to build it into a profitable book of business.
  • State insurance license.
