Senior Employee Benefits Producer-Greenville, SC

Our client has grown into a sophisticated benefits firm that provides a full suite of group life and health programs for its clients around the Greenville community and on a broader regional scale.  This sales position is a unique opportunity for an experienced employee benefits producer to develop a personal book of business for the agency and be in a position to help perpetuate its leadership in the near future.

Senior Employee Benefits Producer Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the sales and service teams to identify prospective clients; serve as the lead consultant for marketing, closing and strategic program design needed until the next renewal cycle.  This can include introducing additional services the client may want including wellness, retirement planning and benefit communications.
  • Take an active role in team leadership.  Get involved with marketing relationships, agency planning, staff development and sales strategies.  Work closely with affiliated partners to share resources and tap into business development streams.  Learn the business side of running an insurance agency to be in a position to take over for most of the day-to-day leadership.

Senior Employee Benefits Producer Requirements:
  • At least five (5) years of experience as a group employee benefits producer for a retail agency or benefits boutique brokerage.
  • Successful track record of new business production outside of the small group arena (preferably that 100+ ees target).
  • Work experience and ties to the Southeast; highly desired is someone familiar with the Greenville community through professional sales work on a personal level.  This is a great opportunity for a producer to “come home”.
  • Desire for leadership and agency management in conjunction with continuing to be a senior producer.
  • State insurance license.

Senior Employee Benefits Producer-Pittsburgh, PA

Our client is a large regional insurance agency that in recent years has been quietly expanding in Pittsburgh.  Property and casualty business has been the basis for their growth, so naturally group employee benefits opportunities have come through those clients too.  In order for the agency to create the Pittsburgh office it originally envisioned a local employee benefits team must be established. This position, Senior Employee Benefits Producer, is the first hire that will lead the agency’s “boots on the ground” strategy in Pittsburgh.

For an experienced benefits producer who wants an entrepreneurial position this is a great opportunity to have it all- a sales role, strategic input and to be part of a firm that culturally perpetuates leadership from within.  You’ll have a say in decisions related to the western Pennsylvania territory including service hires and marketing.  You’ll be the singular business development point of contact for leads created through the agency’s commercial clients in and around Pittsburgh.
To be considered for this opportunity you must possess a bachelor’s degree and be skilled in prospecting new business clients on your own.  Proven sales success means you have an existing customer base; not necessarily one that can follow you knowing how non-competes are enforced but rather you’re familiar with and known to business owners in the local market.  This gives you a starting point to develop business in a new agency.  Despite cross selling opportunities the agency wants someone who is confident in their ability to build a book from scratch knowing hitting the $1MM mark can happen more quickly because of the existing P&C book available in this situation.
