Commercial Lines Marketing Manager - Memphis, TN

The Commercial Lines Marketing Director is an exciting, highly integrated role within this insurance brokerage that will be the knowledge source and placement expert for high level property and casualty cases.  The agency's centralized marketing department needs you to be the "doer", the person with the same impetus and expertise to get deals done as the account executives and producers.  You will be brought in on a lot of new business projects and critical renewal cases. You will help shape the interaction between the centralized marketing department and the sales and service teams showing where your team can tackle placement freeing up their responsibilities for other consultation with the client.  You will also provide a direct link between insurance companies and the agency which is in excellent standing with many of its partners. This allows you to build critical rapport to work through complex cases or ones that require special program and financing features

Commercial Lines Marketing Director Responsibilities
  • Serve as the placement expert within the centralized market team.  Work very closely with producers, account executives and clients on preparing programs that are competitive, creative and address risk management issues.  Train and develop internal staff on marketing strategies.
  • Set goals and objectives for the marketing department including speed and accuracy of quotes, program design and segmentation of responsibilities based on factors like new versus existing business, premium size, complexity of financing structures and so on.
  • Prepare reports, analysis and presentations for the sales team coming to those terms through negotiations and accountability with underwriters.  Attend client review meetings and discuss loss history, rate trends, market accessibility and special programs available to them.  

Commercial Insurance Marketing Specialist Qualifications
  • At least five (5) years of broad property and casualty insurance experience with direct involvement in the analysis and selection of new or renewal submissions.  Carrier or wholesale brokerage underwriting and/or field marketing and production experience is highly preferred; agency brokerage/placement experience will also be considered.   
  • Must have experience engaging directly with insureds to discuss coverage and pricing options.  Examples of such would be attending joint meetings and presentations with agency producers and brokers.   
  • Strong multi-line commercial coverage knowledge with general liability, commercial auto, property, and workers compensation. Familiarity with plans, pricing, forms from multiple insurance companies and wholesale brokers.
  • Display leadership qualities with a clear understanding of setting objectives, goals and achieving results for a centralized marketing department.  Ability to coordinate efforts with the sales and service teams as well.
  • State insurance license or able to obtain one shortly upon hire.

AVP, Commercial Lines Service and Operations Team Leader - Los Angeles, CA

The Assistant Vice President position is a unique role that is being newly created to help support the growing infrastructure in the commercial lines division.  Up to this point the insurance agency's client service team has been overseen through a combination of department managers and executive officers.  This role is the perfect opportunity for an experienced property and casualty insurance professional who possesses a strong account executive background to spend more of their time incorporating management and operational responsibilities.  It’s the perfect blend of continuing to maintain touch with clients as a consultant while also working on staff development, infrastructure, workflows and best practices that need a coordinator behind the scenes to build a great team.

Assistant Vice President, Commercial Lines Service and Operations Team Leader Responsibilities:
Client Service- Involvement in the strategic design and onboarding of new accounts and renewing existing clients. Handle aspects of plan review, submission compilation, marketing, underwriting negotiations, preparing presentations and executing written service plans.  Oversee staff involved in policy administration and general client communication.
Team Leader- Work on initiatives with the management team regarding organizational development, team efficiencies, training and employee development.  Foster a strong team based culture and handle formal supervisory duties including decisions related to hiring, performance review, team alignment and assignment of accounts. 
Marketing and Operations- Develop relationships with key underwriting partners.  Be a liaison on carrier meetings, training sessions, seminars and events.  Be a resource on administrator needs for online rating, setting up new program partnerships and bringing the group together on new placement initiatives.  Serve as the centralized information source on general office duties like aged receivables, system quality checks, audits and departmental objectives.
Assistant Vice President, Commercial Lines Service and Operations Leader Requirements:
At least 5-7 years of senior property and casualty account executive experience.  Strong commercial coverage expertise is required.
Prior supervisory and/or management experience is required.  This can range from troubleshoot general administrative and operational duties within an agency's service team to having account managers report to you where handle performance issues, team building strategies and so on.

Leadership style must be as a consensus builder. Possess finesse and objectivity with soft people skills while still remaining organized and on task with meeting goals. Unafraid of taking on new challenges and projects.

Commercial Lines Client Service Operations Leader - Atlanta, GA


The Client Service Operations Leader is a multi-faceted role that may still be developed around the unique skill set an individual brings to the table.  The insurance brokerage's Atlanta operations are led by the joint efforts of this person who oversees all client management teams and the sales leader who manages business development.  The one aspect that is critical to begin defining this role is prior team leadership experience within an insurance agency so that you can make a more immediate impact tackling projects related to portfolio management, client retention, workflows and general operational strategies.  

Client Service Operations Leader Responsibilities
Leadership- Be involved in employee management and Human Resources functions including recruiting, training and staff development.  Institute policies concerning workplace protocol, set performance guidelines and accountability measures and  review hiring procedures.  Could involve budge preparation, market development and company branding.

Operations- Participate in the planning and execution of the company's business initiatives. Can include working with the sales and service unit managers on assignment of teams.  Can include implementation of new technologies to more efficiently track data and achieve client service goals.  May also focus on internal review of policies and procedures- audits, best practices, compliance and reporting. 
Company leadership- Work closely with the executive team on a host of leadership duties.  This can include fostering an environment of continual improvement, identifying corporate communication strategies, forecasting long range company plans, managing certain financials, establishing internal meetings and attending industry events as a representative of the firm.
Client Service Operations Leader Requirements
At least 7-10 years of property and casualty insurance experience; retail agency experience is required.  Must have client service team leadership experience.


Particular emphasis in recent roles must include employee development, organizational management, marketing, client deliverables and technology utilization.

The function of a Commercial Marketing Specialist is to provide underwriting support as well as program design and market knowledge to the sales and service teams within this independent insurance brokerage.  When utilized to its fullest extent a centralized marketing team incredibly beneficial to the due diligence process with large, complex and unusual cases.  It also brings a level of sophistication and support the producers and client management team can lean on during very active renewal seasons.


Commercial Marketing Specialist Responsibilities
Responsible for the effective marketing of property and casualty accounts to companies and brokers in accordance with the practices, policies and procedures of the agency.
Market all lines of commercial insurance and directly impact revenue goals through the speed and efficiency at which you work with the intention securing a speedy turnaround with competitive rates and terms. 
Pre-underwrite commercial accounts within insurance company delegated underwriting authority, guidelines, and procedures; complete applications, analyze loss information, etc.
Act as account liaison for the producer in dealing with other departments of the agency for quoting of specialized lines of coverage.
Effectively build relationships with insurance company underwriters through a pattern of professional risk submissions, visitations and sound negotiations.

Commercial Marketing Specialist Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred.
At least five (5) years of commercial insurance experience heavily involved in marketing, account placement and carrier relationship building.
Specific industry expertise isn't required though a lot of these accounts are industrial based like in manufacturing, construction, oil and gas and professional lines.  Broad knowledge of property and casualty plans is required.
Excellent presentation skills; comfortable being out of the office with the sales team to discuss coverage plans with clients.
