Business Development Rep/Sales Rep Employee Benefits Services - San Francisco, CA


Our client is a progressive technology solutions provider offering insurance brokers and large employers resources to deal with the changing responsibilities of group benefits administration. Able to customize solutions for each client, the company's strength lies with the sales executives who can create new relationships, understand the intricacies of each case and pull internal resources together for a cost savings to the client.  The company already has a national business development footprint but the need for a dedicated West Coast presence is paramount to the growth set up for the coming years.  This position, Business Development Executive, is a critical hire to establishing a physical and local presence to the company's existing western U.S. operations.



Business Development Executive Responsibilities:
Create and implement a two-pronged sales strategy, one that focuses primarily on selling technology and benefits administration solutions directly to large employers; a smaller portion of your time will be developing partnership with insurance brokers.
Serve as the primary client consultant with new and existing clients to determine the success of software solutions, the effectiveness of implementation and cost structures involved in product customization with an ultimate goal of efficiency and cost savings for HR, benefits and payroll processing.
Stay informed of insurance and regulatory compliance for customers including benefits administration and outsourcing, enrollments and eligibility, COBRA and HIPAA compliance and more.
Manage key communications including on-site visits, annual reports, and project timelines.

Business Development Executive Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is preferred with at least five (5) years of successful sales experience in a business-to-business setting.
The direct sales model to other companies is critical experience; you must offer a track record of selling consultative, service driven solutions to CFOs, executives and Human Resources managers.
Have worked in a sales culture that focuses on services rather than products, consultation rather than transaction and where there's evidence of formal sales training.
Experience with the functionality of benefits administration- either from the viewpoint of technology and software solutions to Human Resources and benefits outsourcing to health/welfare consulting in the insurance industry.

Stop Loss Sales Executive Job Description

Our client is a member of a large, multi-disciplined national insurance company.  Rated A+ by A.M. Best, this organization has achieved success by offering an innovate portfolio of group medical, accident and health insurance products.  As a part of their continued national expansion the company would like to identify sales executives to promote a unique stop loss product in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Western U.S. territories and can be located in any one of these regions.  Specifically, this product line allows mid-sized employers access to self-funding and all the advantages that come with alternative risk sharing normally reserved for larger companies.  It’s an excellent strategy for brokers to employ when consulting with clients about rising health care costs.
Stop Loss Sales Executive Responsibilities:
Experience working with medical stop loss products for an insurance company or MGU.
Able to build or work within existing relationship bases with TPAs, agents, and brokers that sell stop loss products currently.
Must possess some level of understanding of the underwriting process, if not specific underwriting background.
Perform risk analysis of new business and renewals to make sound judgments and recommendations in pricing and designing group benefit plans.
Work closely with internal sales, actuarial, and case management departments in designing benefit plans and presentations.
Stop Loss Sales Executive Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is highly preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
At least five (5) years of sales and marketing experience with existing relationships in the same territory you'd work in for this company.
Some overnight travel required.

Commercial Lines Underwriter - Atlanta, GA or Raleigh, NC

I"m working on a great commercial lines underwriting position with a terrific MGA that is looking for an underwriter in both Atlanta and Raleigh.  While they would prefer to find someone with an MGA underwriting background they are open to looking at someone that has carrier experience provided that they are comfortable stepping into a production underwriting role.  At the end of the day our client is looking for someone that has outgoing and professional personality that is comfortable actively calling on agencies both in person and on the phone.



Commercial Lines Underwriter

Our client is a multi-state Wholesale Broker/Managing General Agency with a great reputation in commercial program management.  An underwriter at the company is responsible for branding, building upon existing relationships and pursuing new business to grow the agency. These positions are a wonderful opportunity to blend traditional elements of desk underwriting with a forward thinking approach to production underwriting.  Success as an underwriter with this company sets you up for a great career in other areas of the company's leadership and marketing efforts.

Commercial Lines Underwriter Responsibilities:
Evaluate the performance and profitability of commercial insurance submissions from retail agents; core program areas include monoline or package policies with General Liability and commercial property; secondary and unique products like products liability, pollution, excess and umbrella can be included.
Make determinations on coverage, rates and special endorsements based on market conditions, underwriting guidelines and historical data (financial and claims reports) to build a profitable book of business.
Pursue marketing relationships in expansion territories; the Atlanta position will expand westward to do business with agents in Alabama; the Raleigh position will focus on Tennessee marketing.

Senior Production Underwriter Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
At least five (5) years of broad property and casualty underwriting experience; existing Southeast retail agency relationships are required whether that be previously from a production underwriting or commercial direct writer position or work as a member of a Managing General Agency or wholesale broker.
Ability to create and execute marketing plans that drive new business opportunities, brand the company in-state and in surrounding markets as well as take a broad approach to capturing a balanced amount of casualty and property business.
Some travel is required.

Territory Marketing Commercial Account Executive - Indianapolis, IN

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to move into a marketing business development role  for a carrier.  I need to find someone with strong agency development skills that can build a region for a well respected niche carrier.  My clients works heavily in medical malpractice.  However, they don't need a med mal background and are instead focused on finding someone with enthusiasm, sales and marketing skills, and good agency relationships in Indiana.  They are open to people transitioning from the agency and broker side as well as current production underwriters and marketing reps.  Please let me know if you are interested or have questions.



Territory Marketing Commercial Account Executive

Our client is a specialty commercial insurance company that provides a variety of medical professional lines products, services and technology solutions to the healthcare industry.  Specifically the company's programs are designed to insure physicians, clinics, hospitals and healthcare systems in the Midwest.  This position, Territory Marketing Account Executive, is an opportunity for you to develop the insurance company's brand in its newest region, Indiana.  Because this is a start-up opportunity the company feels is critical that an experienced sales executive who is knowledgeable of the local broker market is hired to lead the charge.

Territory Marketing Account Executive Responsibilities:
Develop successful working relationships with Indiana retail agencies and brokers who require resources to insure healthcare entities and physician groups.
Become an invaluable partner alongside agency producers during the quoting and negotiation phases as well as helping them prepare renewals and client presentations.
Educate brokers during sales presentations on company products, Human Resources and technology solutions available to their insureds.
Promote the company's brand in this region of the Midwest through attendance at conventions, healthcare events and in partnership with your Account Executive colleagues in other regions.

Territory Marketing Account Executive Qualifications:
A college degree or higher education training in business, healthcare management or a related field is preferred.
At least five (5) years of successful property and casualty insurance sales experience; work with medical malpractice, professional liability, physicians or healthcare clients and products is highly desired.
Active state insurance license or able to obtain one shortly upon hire.
Consultative sales and marketing approach, strong relationship building skills, ability to travel statewide, exceptional organization and presentation skills are required.

Our client is a well respected carrier that is a leader in accident and health coverage.  They are seeking someone that is currently a sales rep, business development rep or carrier rep with a group medical carrier that is experienced working with large national accounts (1,000 life plus) to step into a business development role managing a multi-state region.  If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Regional Marketing Manager - Los Angeles or San Francisco
Our client is a global provider of specialty lines insurance. They offer a range of insurance products—including Personal Accident, Business Travel, Accident and Sickness and other specialty health coverages. They presently offer an opportunity to join their growing organization as a Regional Marketing Manager in four different locations to include: Atlanta, GA;  Los Angeles or San Francisco, CA;  Dallas or Houston, TX; Chicago, IL. While the product line will be A&H, the best fit for my client's needs will likely be someone from an employee benefits sales background calling on a defined territory. This position will actively promote Client's A&H products and services to brokers, consultants and any other distribution sources in their assigned territory.  The Regional Marketing Manager will provide the necessary servicing to these producers to make sure they are satisfied and to maintain strong working relationships with these individuals and be responsive to their needs.     

Regional Marketing Manager Responsibilities:

  • Frequent sales calls to brokers and consultants in all parts of the assigned territory
  • Identify new distribution sources to sell A&H products and services
  • Educate the producer community about A&H products and services
  • Develop new broker relationships within territory
  • Work with VP of Sales on a regular basis visiting producers in the defined territory  

Regional Marketing Manager Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the group benefits and/or A&H business
  • Minimum of 7 years of sales experience in the group benefits and/or A&H business
  • Strong existing relationships with brokers and agents within assigned territory
  • Strong written, oral and presentation skills
