Senior Commercial Marketer Oil and Gas/Energy - Baton Rouge, LA

For most insurance agencies the collaboration between marketing and sales is critical to ensuring the successful acquisition of large risk management accounts. This position, Senior Commercial Marketer, is needed not only because the agency desires an experienced presence to support one of its biggest regions but also because of its ongoing specialization in energy risks.  It will immediately tackle a large book of new and renewal business with alternative funding, loss sensitive accounts, many of which are also oil and gas related. Because of the immediate impact this position makes in the Baton Rouge team the agency requires an individual with strong placement and negotiation experience.  Its very conceivable for an individual with the right senior experience this role will be in a position to take on leadership duties that over time may include strategic department design, workflow improvements and staffing initiatives.

Senior Commercial Marketer Responsibilities
Responsible for the effective marketing of insurance risks to companies in accordance with the practices, policies and procedures of the agency.  The majority of accounts will be energy and oil and gas related in south Louisiana and along the Gulf Coast.
Market all lines of commercial insurance and directly impact revenue goals through the acquisition of new business and retention of renewals.
Pre-underwrite commercial accounts within insurance company delegated underwriting authority, guidelines, and procedures.
Act as account liaison for the producer in dealing with other departments of the agency for quoting of specialized lines of coverage.
Effectively build relationships with insurance company underwriters through a pattern of professional risk submissions, visitations and good negotiations.

Senior Commercial Marketer Requirements
At least five (5) years of commercial insurance experience heavily involved in placement of business and pricing negotiations; since agency experience is required individuals who have gained this experience as a producer, senior account manager, account executive or marketing specialist will be strongly considered.
Large account, loss sensitive rating and proposal experience.  Specific industry expertise in oil and gas is extremely helpful.  However, in general broad property and casualty knowledge along with existing underwriting relationships for business in south Louisiana is more important even if this were in other industrial sectors.
Excellent presentation skills; comfortable being out of the office with the sales team to discuss coverage plans with clients.

Vice President, Senior Commercial Producer-AL

A lot of insurance agencies make the cliche statement, “We’re always looking to hire good producers.” The reality is the very best, most progressive retailers build a business model in the image of national brokerages without losing their regional identity. Capstone’s success in matching experienced insurance producers with this client is because we appreciate at some point it’s not a question of whether a person can sell. Its about bringing together an agency’s business model with a producer’s specialization at the right time for both parties.

In the South we are in a position to introduce you to a retail brokerage client that is aggressively growing in a new way, through the identification and acquisition of experienced specialty producers. The company offers a niche driven model with centralized client service, claims and risk management resources to provide technical support in these verticals. If you’re a producer whose sales success is due to platform specialization we would like to discuss their plans in the following areas:

  • Healthcare/medical malpractice
  • Transportation
  • Energy (oil & gas)
  • Agriculture/agribusiness
  • Real estate
  • Hospitality

Many of these verticals were created because of the ambition of a senior producer. There are opportunities within this company for an incoming producer to create and build a platform. Even if your area of expertise is different from the list above we’d still like to visit with you about a potential match with this client. Please contact Scott Thompson for a confidential conversation.

Commercial Insurance Producer - Energy Sector- Midwest/Northeast

I"m working with a client that is looking for a top flight producer.  Our client is a privately held, well respected agency that has an energy practice playing in several niches including coal mining.  They are looking for someone with energy exposure to assume a leadership role as a producer to actively grow the practice.  This is a situation where a portion of a book could be assumed and offers a defined ownership plan.

Commercial Insurance Producer - Energy Sector
Our client is an established independent broker with roots in the Midwest but with significant expansion plans.  Privately held, they have genuine opportunity to provide perpetuation, succession and leadership opportunities to producers who contribute at a high level.  The agency intends to grow in two ways.  First, they will continue to grow beyond their current satellite offices.  Second, they will tap into specialized industries that are profitable and often underserved.  One of these areas is energy.  The firm has a natural market in IN, OH, PA, WV and VA through existing commercial accounts and energy contacts.  The agency would like this position, Senior Commercial Producer, to manage all future growth plans in this territory.  Ideally, the book you build will be based around coal mining.

Senior Commercial Producer, Energy Responsibilities:
Set forth a plan to tackle expansion into the coal mining region of IN, OH, PA, WV and VA.
Be mindful of capitalizing on current insureds, association and legislative relationships the agency has in these areas; overlay this with your natural networks in energy and mining.
Serve as an expert resource within the agency for all things energy related; educate other producers on opportunities for cross selling, provide marketing insight for the service team and provide strategic input to the executive team about resources needed to build an energy practice.

Senior Commercial Producer, Energy Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.
At least five (5) years of commercial sales experience, for another independent agency or broker, focusing on coal mining and other energy related business.
Ability to work autonomously and come to the agency with an established track record of sales success.
Desire to participate in leadership plans for the coal mining practice; through early sales can put yourself in a position to be a solution for agency succession plans.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and provides a base salary with additional commissions on annual new business revenue.

Please contact Scott Thompson for immediate confidential consideration and additional details.  Email:  sthompson@insurance-csg.com  Phone:  515-987-0242 x17 Fax 515-987-0004  See our website at, www.csgrecruiting.com/ins_opportunities.htm for a complete listing of nationwide opportunities.
