Commercial Lines Account Manager, Oil And Gas-Houston, TX

Our client is a successful insurance agency with a unique opportunity for an experienced energy specialist to join their team in a client management role.  Though familiarity working on the retail side is helpful the most important incoming skill set is knowledge gained by handling energy policies.  Therefore, candidates with oil and gas underwriting experience that want to do something different in their career will be considered.  This will remain an inside role dedicated to supporting the agency’s producers on marketing, data management and policy administration.

Commercial Account Manager, Oil and Gas Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the management of policy administration; maintain accurate coverage, billing and claims records; work closely with underwriters on policy changes and gaps.
  • Participate in renewal planning sessions; communicate concerns from the insured to the sales and marketing teams.  Market new and renewal business; create proposals and maintain files related to underwriting and marketing information.

Commercial Account Manager, Oil and Gas Qualifications:
  • At least five (5) years of insurance career experience specifically handling energy/oil and gas accounts.  Experienced with the unique nuances of these risks, policy forms and even placement with surplus lines carriers.
  • Strong knowledge with all property and casualty lines including General Liability, workers compensation, commercial auto and so on.
  • State insurance license.

Commercial Lines Account Manager-Oklahoma City, OK

Our client is a large, independent brokerage with expertise to create insurance plans for a diverse group of industries. They seek two experienced property and casualty client service professionals to join their Oklahoma City team.   Because the needs are immediate you’ll instantly begin handling an important book of business built on larger risk management accounts, many of which are oil and gas related.  You will help producers manage the business relationship and coordinate all of the policy administration and renewal preparation.

Commercial Lines Account Manager Responsibilities:
  • Establish solid client relationships and manage the delivery of services along with answering questions from clients about coverage, billing, and endorsements
  • Identify important client needs as well as cross selling opportunities and effectively communicate those needs to the sales team
  • Coordinate the administrative activity of client accounts like certificates, id cards, and applications as they relate to renewals and claims.
  • Grow relationships with underwriters and marketing contacts to help work through renewal negotiations, coverage gaps, claims issues and additional services or policy purchases.

Commercial Lines Account Manager Requirements:
  • At least five (five) years of successful property and casualty client service experience; retail agency background is most desirable.  Other backgrounds in underwriting support especially with experience with larger accounts or with energy policies will be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred; commensurate experience and professional designations will be considered.
  • Broad proficiency with commercial coverage forms like general liability, property, auto and workers compensation is required.
  • Experience with billing, customer service calls, policy review, and renewal marketing.
    Active state insurance license.
  • Some travel may be involved.

Corporate Risk Manager - Chicago, IL

Corporate Risk Manager
My client's business is the exploration, production, refining, trading and distribution of energy. With a workforce of 80,000 employees, my client operates across six continents. Due to succession planning they are offering an opportunity to join their Risk Management department in Chicago. The Insurance Risk Solutions is a 17 member team based in London with 4 insurance and risk management professionals located in Chicago. The team in Chicago has general responsibility to implement the Group's Policy on Insurance for all its operations in the Americas, and work with the London team on global risk and insurance issues. This new hire will provide risk management and insurance services to my client's global business units and play a key role serving the risk and insurance needs of the Group. You will need to maintain close relationships with operating businesses, Treasury, Tax, and Legal.

Corporate Risk Manager Responsibilities
Overseeing insurance programs, supervising outsourced agents, working with the captive insurers, and participating in several risk management projects or activities such as risk engineering, contractual risk allocation, financial assurance, environmental risk management, etc. There will be opportunity to develop and apply new risk management and insurance techniques.
Implementation of Group Insurance Strategy: Provide practical advice to Business Units on the application of the Group's Policy on Insurance, which broadly describes the Group's risk retention philosophy.
Develop a keen understanding of client's hazard risks along with the risk management options available to deal with those risks. Develop and participate in value adding risk management projects to provide insurance and wider financial market solutions to risks.
Manage, plan, and arrange specific insurance purchases, either directly or through appointed agents. Examine alternatives such as self-insurance or captive participation to ensure the best risk management results.
Manage the work assigned to insurance brokers and other agents to ensure that they are operating within the framework of the Group policy and providing effective and low-cost support to the Business Units.
Coordinate insurance claims handling and activities following insured losses; advise BU’s of applicable coverage, notify broker/insurer, and work with the appointed adjuster to obtain a favorable settlement.

Corporate Risk Manager Requirements
Have a BS or BA Degree, preferably in finance, engineering, legal, or risk management.  Possess a keen interest in assessing and managing risk.
Excel in communication skills with ability to give practical advice.
Show an ability for creating and developing innovative ideas
Minimum 10 years experience applying risk management principles to major commercial operations. It will also be beneficial if they have placed or purchased commercial insurance products, especially in the energy insurance sector.
Able to work independently, prioritize, organize multiple assignments, and have strong oral and written communication skills.
Associate in Risk Management designation (ARM) or equivalent
MBA in Finance or other related subject
