Commercial Lines Wholesale Marketing Representative - Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN, Birmingham, AL, Chicago, IL

As a Commercial Lines Marketing Representative for this wholesale insurance broker you will concentrate on increasing business development opportunities for the company within a network of established independent agencies appointed throughout the country. More specifically, however, your focus will be carving out untapped sources of revenue within larger regional agency clients in area like Chicago, Nashville, Dallas and Atlanta. This role borrows elements from a true wholesale broker position with those an account representative and marketing specialist has within a Managing General Agency.

Commercial Lines Marketing Representative Responsibilities
Develop an action plan that targets retail agencies writing excess and surplus lines business. These might be dormant relationships you need to reactivate or accounts currently placing some business with the company but you know there is much more to be captured.
Identify with agency partners who are more niche focused; carve out those niches and work within your team to develop specializations and programs that meet the unique needs of the market.
Work closely with underwriters on critical cases. These can be new ones that are deals important to getting premium on the books or cases you know must be retained but need creative ways to keeping the business with your company.
Commercial Lines Marketing Representative
At least four (4) years of commercial marketing, production underwriting or wholesale brokerage experience where you've worked directly with retail agencies to drive business opportunities to you. Prior work with excess and surplus lines products is helpful.

Able to create and execute a business development plan that focuses on a combination of cold calling and referral management; travel to meet with retail agencies and discuss ways to improve or enhance service and program offerings.

Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter - Jackson, MS

The role of Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter is to proactively develop a profitable book of property and casualty business and create strong partnerships with retail insurance agencies.  Our client is a managing general agency with a strong excess and surplus lines platform.  Main street, property and casualty business make up over half of the company's revenue, so you will be stepping into an established underwriting group with the goal of growing premium even further. 


Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter Responsibilities:
You'll be responsible for driving new business production while maintaining a high retention standard.
You'll engage current and prospective retail agents to distribute products and address customer service needs.
Your primary duties will include reviewing submissions, underwriting excess and surplus lines accounts and securing competitive approval from multiple personal lines carriers to present to the retail broker.  Accounts will vary in classes such as contractors, restaurants, habitation and other main street businesses.

Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-5 years of property and casualty underwriting experience; excess and surplus lines exposure is critical. Even more desirable is past work for a managing general agency or with a production underwriting component that required you to produce new business through the retail agency channels. 

Detail oriented; can work with multiple online rating platforms and manage relationships with underwriters.
Ability to build marketing relationships with agencies in a given territory. Some travel.

Group Medical Underwriting Consultant - Denver, CO

Our client is a large, national insurance brokerage looking to expand in their Denver location. With recent growth, they have a need for an Underwriting Consultant in their Employee Benefits division. This is a wonderful opportunity for a strong technical candidate who also has an entrepreneurial spirit and isn't afraid of getting their hands dirty. This is a growth position and will be very demanding, but incredibly rewarding both professionally and financially.


Group Medical Underwriting Consultant Responsibilities
Develop renewal projections, funding rates, and reserve estimates for self-funded cases.
Price plan changes for self-funded clients.
Evaluate and assist consultants with negotiation of insured and stop-loss renewals.
Create exhibits and reports to illustrate the underwriting and financial aspects of designated projects.
Explain and present complex underwriting principles and strategies in an understandable and meaningful way to internal staff and clients.
Develop and suggest creative solutions and strategies for benefit problems and issues.
Assist with the development of standardized reporting formats and packages.
Train analysts and other benefits personnel on renewal evaluations, underwriting, self-funding and stop-loss financial reviews, contribution modeling, and Rx carve-out marketing.
Serve as a resource on underwriting issues to company personnel.
Group Medical Underwriting Consultant requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required.
5-7 years of medical underwriting in either a carrier or broker setting.
Experience working with larger self-funded cases a must.

Professional designations such as CEBS, RHU, REBC a plus.

Commercial Lines Underwriting Assistant - Jackson, MS

The Underwriting Assistant works to support the onboarding of new accounts and the management of existing policies within this Jackson, MS Managing General Agency.  The company needs an individual with experience handling property and casualty policies.  You must have a strong attention to detail, be thorough and precise in your communication and also be able to handle a high volume of policies in various stages of the renewal cycle.



Underwriting Assistant Responsibilities
Work with the underwriters to organize in-force policies based on renewal dates.  Pull together existing policy information and request updated claims information from carriers and insurance agencies.  Review applications, value statements and reports to compile complete submissions and prepare for underwriting quotes.  Prepare quote sheets; enter and update data in the computer system.
Communicate with agencies about changes to coverage, forms and endorsements.  Process requests and issue billing and cancellation notices.  Issue binders. Check new policies.  Coordinate premium finance or direct billing arrangements.

Underwriting Assistant Requirements
At least 2-3 years of commercial insurance experience in an underwriting support or customer service role where you're directly assisting with policy management, certificate and binder issues and completing applications.

Experienced working with a database management system, online quote platforms, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Senior Commercial Marketer Oil and Gas/Energy - Baton Rouge, LA

For most insurance agencies the collaboration between marketing and sales is critical to ensuring the successful acquisition of large risk management accounts. This position, Senior Commercial Marketer, is needed not only because the agency desires an experienced presence to support one of its biggest regions but also because of its ongoing specialization in energy risks.  It will immediately tackle a large book of new and renewal business with alternative funding, loss sensitive accounts, many of which are also oil and gas related. Because of the immediate impact this position makes in the Baton Rouge team the agency requires an individual with strong placement and negotiation experience.  Its very conceivable for an individual with the right senior experience this role will be in a position to take on leadership duties that over time may include strategic department design, workflow improvements and staffing initiatives.


Senior Commercial Marketer Responsibilities
Responsible for the effective marketing of insurance risks to companies in accordance with the practices, policies and procedures of the agency.  The majority of accounts will be energy and oil and gas related in south Louisiana and along the Gulf Coast.
Market all lines of commercial insurance and directly impact revenue goals through the acquisition of new business and retention of renewals.
Pre-underwrite commercial accounts within insurance company delegated underwriting authority, guidelines, and procedures.
Act as account liaison for the producer in dealing with other departments of the agency for quoting of specialized lines of coverage.
Effectively build relationships with insurance company underwriters through a pattern of professional risk submissions, visitations and good negotiations.

Senior Commercial Marketer Requirements
At least five (5) years of commercial insurance experience heavily involved in placement of business and pricing negotiations; since agency experience is required individuals who have gained this experience as a producer, senior account manager, account executive or marketing specialist will be strongly considered.
Large account, loss sensitive rating and proposal experience.  Specific industry expertise in oil and gas is extremely helpful.  However, in general broad property and casualty knowledge along with existing underwriting relationships for business in south Louisiana is more important even if this were in other industrial sectors. 
Excellent presentation skills; comfortable being out of the office with the sales team to discuss coverage plans with clients.

My client is a solutions-oriented life reinsurance  company with an emphasis on traditional and closed block risks, and an emerging focus  on specialized niches of primary life insurance business such as simplified issue and longevity risk management. They are currently  looking for an experienced senior underwriter to join their  team in Connecticut.

Senior Life Underwriter Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the underwriting process.
  • Classify risks according to company philosophy and standards.
  • Provide underwriting expertise and support for Life Settlement evaluations.
  • Be proactive in revising and updating of underwriting policies and practices as they relate to Simplified Issue and Middle Market business.
  • Participate in and provide a leadership resource for actuarial projects.
  • As a member of the Claims committee, review contestable claims on active and closed blocks of business.
  • Yearly audit of TPA underwriting team.
Senior Life Underwriter Qualifications:
  • College graduate
  • Minimum 5 years life underwriting experience
  • FALU, FLMI, CLU designations, or currently in progress
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of medical, non-medical, and financial underwriting principles and practices.
  • Broad knowledge of Simplified Issue products, processes, and underwriting, including ability to recognize the impact of Pharmacy hits.
  • Knowledge of Life Settlements and ability to affirm longevity estimates based upon the review and evaluation of medical records, with particular emphasis on older age treatments and their effect on life expectancy.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Effective presentation skills along with written and verbal communication proficiency.
  • Ability to provide underwriting perspectives for actuarial pricing of products.
  • Broad knowledge of claims adjudication process

Ocean Marine and Energy Account Manager

Our client is a progressive independent broker with deep roots in the Gulf Coast insurance community.  The marine practice has experienced such tremendous growth that this position, Senior Commercial Account Specialist, will be added so the agency can continue providing excellent service to its insureds.   In this role you'll serve as a critical component of meeting the account management marketing and relationship building needs of companies in the business of marine and energy.

Senior Commercial Account Specialist, Marine Responsibilities:
You'll assist a senior producer and Account Executive with pre-underwriting analysis, renewal preparation, written service execution, risk management implementation and market negotiations. You'll participate in all phases of the client management process which might involve policy and claims review, identifying coverage gaps, making policy changes and working through billing and finance issues.    
Frequently interact with the insureds providing prompt responses on questions, furthering the business relationship by building relationships with markets and meeting with insureds on occasion throughout the year.
 
Senior Commercial Account Specialist, Marine Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is preferred; pursuit of continuing education and/or industry endorsements will be supported by the agency.
Active Louisiana P&C license or able to obtain one shortly upon hire.
At least five (5) years of property and casualty insurance experience with a detailed exposure to marketing initiatives and underwriting negotiations.
Previous work experience that will be considered:  commercial underwriter, agency account manager or wholesale broker particularly with an emphasis on handling marine risks.
