Senior Employee Benefits Producer-Pittsburgh, PA

Our client is a large regional insurance agency that in recent years has been quietly expanding in Pittsburgh.  Property and casualty business has been the basis for their growth, so naturally group employee benefits opportunities have come through those clients too.  In order for the agency to create the Pittsburgh office it originally envisioned a local employee benefits team must be established. This position, Senior Employee Benefits Producer, is the first hire that will lead the agency's "boots on the ground" strategy in Pittsburgh.
For an experienced benefits producer who wants an entrepreneurial position this is a great opportunity to have it all- a sales role, strategic input and to be part of a firm that culturally perpetuates leadership from within.  You'll have a say in decisions related to the western Pennsylvania territory including service hires and marketing.  You'll be the singular business development point of contact for leads created through the agency's commercial clients in and around Pittsburgh.

To be considered for this opportunity you must possess:

A bachelor's degree and be skilled in prospecting new business clients on your own.  Proven sales success means you have an existing customer base; not necessarily one that can follow you knowing how non-competes are enforced but rather you're familiar with and known to business owners in the local market.  This gives you a starting point to develop business in a new agency.  Despite cross selling opportunities the agency wants someone who is confident in their ability to build a book from scratch knowing hitting the $1MM mark can happen more quickly because of the existing P&C book available in this situation.
