This is a senior level executive position in Anchorage with a reputable insurance brokerage. The firm seeks an experienced professional with strong leader qualifications to lead sales and marketing for its corporate benefits division. This is a challenging role that requires an innovative, forward thinking business professional who first and foremost has deep health and welfare insurance knowledge. You’ll participate in strategic planning for growth in the team including the recruiting and training of new producers, penetration into new business development avenues and marketing strategies with key partners.
Employee Benefits Sales Leader Responsibilities
- Business Development- Create and implement a corporate sales strategy taking into consideration the unique qualities of local businesses, opportunities to partner at a national level with the agency’s proprietary resources and step quickly into the sales process on a personal production level. This is a managing producer practice leader role that allows you to develop your own client base but also gives way over time to allowing junior producers the ability to be mentored under your tutelage. The intended focus are middle market, self-funded accounts.
- Marketing and Operations- Foster important insurance company and vendor relationships; work closely with the service team to make any necessary changes or improvements to the service process; identify areas to technology utilization; work with the agency’s executives on budgets, staffing, acquisition opportunities and market expansion.
Employee Benefits Sales Leader Requirements
- At least 10-15 years of group health and welfare insurance experience in a sales capacity with success in personal production at a retail agency. Other desirable experience includes involvement with marketing initiatives and producer training and mentorship.
- While professional work in the Anchorage area is helpful its not required; more importantly is a track record of being innovative in production and leadership roles; sales establishment in a similar market and/or work in the insurance agency model that focuses on middle market business.
