Loss Control Consultant-Statewide, IA

Our client provides superior service to the commercial construction industry. Their focus is on risk management principles through partnering with their policyholders. They are member owned and maintain an A.M. Best Rating of A- (Excellent), which provides both strength and stability to their member owners. They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Loss Control Consultant serving the commercial construction and manufacturing industry. This is a newly created position due to company growth. For this role you could be located anywhere in Iowa, with central or western Iowa being the most ideal. Or you could be located in the Omaha, NE area as well. Consultant will be working out of their home. Position includes bonus, company car and comprehensive benefit package.

Loss Control Consultant Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Risk Control Surveys on construction jobsites or manufacturing facilities in order to identify and correct existing and potential safety hazards
  • Conduct safety training
  • Develop safety programs
  • Conduct accident investigations
  • Write articles for company publications
  • Evaluate potential clientele facilities and jobsites to determine if they meet risk management and safety requirements

Loss Control Consultant Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Hygiene, or Engineering
  • 3 or more years of professional safety experience or insurance industry experience in loss control
  • Strong knowledge of the Construction industry. Manufacturing Industry knowledge a plus.
  • Knowledge of the OSHA/MSHA/DOT Standards
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to conduct safety presentations to large and small audiences
  • Basic computer skills operating programs such as Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Clean driving record

Loss Control Consultant-Eastern, IA

Our client is committed to high quality workers’ compensation insurance programs as evident in their mono-line workers’ compensation division. Our client specializes in providing high-touch loss prevention services and high levels of claims communication and expertise. Their strength is working with employers who seek insurance solutions to both the short- and long-term costs of workers’ compensation. Their unique model of underwriting, loss prevention, and claims management allows employers to maximize control over their costs. They currently offer an opportunity to join their growing organization working from your home in Eastern Iowa.

Loss Control Consultant Responsibilities:
  • Conduct onsite calls for the purpose of providing service to existing complex accounts while conducting evaluations of exposures, hazards controls and analyzing experience for prospective work comp accounts in excess of $100,000.
  • Develops loss related information, service plans, recommendations and reports to reduce losses while developing/strengthen management/administrative controls or physical conditions.
  • Investigate risk exposures/accidents, analyze risk experience and develop account loss reduction procedures. Strong focus on working with identified loss drivers and working towards controlling and containing associated costs.

Loss Control Consultant Requirements:
  • Ten Five (5) or more years’ experience in loss control or safety.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), ASP, CPCU, CLCS, OHST, ARM or related designation desirable.
  • Degree in Occupational Safety or related ideal
  • Experience in 2 or more areas of loss control industry specialties to include but not be limited to ergonomics, industrial hygiene, construction, medical, machine guarding and/or transportation
  • Knowledge of claim management principles and agency relations

Vice President of Risk Control Services-Des Moines, IA

My client is part of one of the nation’s premier commercial lines property casualty insurance providers and are a leading national commercial agribusiness insurer. They are seeking a Vice President of Risk Control Services to lead and provide strategic direction to the loss control department, ensuring superior client loss control services and achieving the company risk management business plan objectives. This position will be a key member of the Senior Management team of this dynamic and growing organization.


Vice President of Risk Control Services Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Agribusiness Risk Control Specialists located throughout the country by providing direction, structure and resources relative to agribusiness, food and fiber industries and clients served.
  • Develop and coordinate risk control strategy with the Underwriting and Claims areas.
  • High level of involvement in acquisition of new mid to large market accounts.
  • Oversee all loss control strategies, including the formulation, development and implementation of loss control standards, policies, practices and services.
  • Develop and implement best practices for the risk control area.
  • Develop and administer risk control budget and resources.


Vice President of Risk Control Services Requirements:

  • Seven to ten years agribusiness management experience with a multi-line insurance company excelling in performing loss control duties. 
  • A degree in occupational safety or equivalent. Solid knowledge of safety regulations, standards and techniques for loss prevention is required. 
  • Professional designations, such as CSP, ALCM, ARM or CPCU are preferred. 
  • Proven leadership abilities. 
  • Proven strategic thinker.

Loss Control Specialist-Iowa

Our client is a premier provider of insurance, risk management, alternative risk, pool administration and claims management solutions to clients across hundreds of industries. Their capabilities are reflected in their broad customer base which includes more than 5800 public entities and public entity pools; more than 237 program administrators/MGAs/carriers. They offer a comprehensive array of loss control solutions delivered by expert consultants and presently offer an opportunity in Iowa to be part of this team of industry experts. In As a Loss Control Specialist you will provide loss control and risk management services to local government risk pool members. Coordinate services with agents, underwriting, and loss control administrator. Assist pool members in identifying potential hazards, developing and implementing programs, policies and/or procedures to reduce or eliminate loss exposures.




Loss Control Specialist Responsibilities

·         Conduct timely loss control surveys of pool members, identify exposures,  assist members in controlling exposures and mitigating or eliminating hazards, issue recommendations and resource materials.
·         Provide underwriting with clear and concise reports of members’ operations, exposures and/or hazards
·         Conduct property valuations utilizing industry standard software.
·         Assist underwriting in reviewing large losses, concentrating on loss control measures that have been and/or can be taken to prevent reoccurrence.

Loss Control Specialist Requirements

·         2+ years of loss control/risk management or related experience.
·         Experience with public entity risk management preferred.
·         Bachelor’s degree.
·         Loss control/risk management including a working knowledge of relevant statutes, standards, guidelines, and safety requirements.
·         Knowledge of references and resources for loss control recommendations.

Construction Defect Commercial Claims Adjuster – Greenville, SC
Our client is a respected specialty commercial auto insurance company.   The company is financially stable and has a terrific opportunity for a new individual to contribute in an important claims position.  Outside of the standard auto liability and transportation policies, the company also diversified its premium with trucker's general liability, garagekeepers and construction defect premium.  Due to the unique elements of these claims, particularly concerning contractor indemnity issues, this position, Senior Commercial Casualty Claims Adjuster, requires an experienced professional who can oversee nearly all of the company's construction defect and general liability claims.
