Corporate Risk Manager - Boston, MA

My client is an innovative, forward-thinking building construction management firm. They currently seek a dynamic risk management professional to join their organization. The Risk Manager will be responsible for identifying and assessing risk throughout the client organization. The position is responsible for the review of insurance policy coverage’s, implementation and maintenance of risk management procedures.



Corporate Risk Manager Responsibilities
Conduct comparative analysis and review of insurance terms, coverage’s and conditions
Assist in the comparative analyses and review of insurance and indemnifications of contracts, builders risk programs and policy coverage and provide feedback to the Legal Department and project management teams.
Part of the risk management team that manages Insurance Broker and Insurance Company relationships.
Provide training to project managers and administrative support on risk management policies and procedures
Manage preparation of Insurance renewal information and applications for insurance
Manage the preparation and review of historical retrospective rated programs including loss, and premium expense reconciliations
Conduct risk audits periodically and ensure compliance with Operating Procedures
Participate in the development of Insurance Manuals, training manuals and presentations
Develop relationship with project executives and project managers to effectively implement risk management protocols

Corporate Risk Manager Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 7 to 10 years relevant insurance industry, risk management experience preferably construction industry experience
Previous Casualty Underwriting experience is preferred
Intimate knowledge of insurance contracts, coverage’s, risk transfer concepts and general risk management theories
Understanding of financial/accounting principles including strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities
Working knowledge of Wrap Up’s, Contractor Default and Builders Risk; construction wrap-up insurance solutions: both contractor controlled insurance programs (CCIPs) and owner controlled insurance programs (OCIPs)
Excellent communication skills

Excellent analysis skills including use of analytical tools

Commercial Insurance Account Manager-Knoxville, TN

Our client has a strong existing commercial lines practice within its Knoxville location with a terrific, close knit staff.  The team anticipates additional growth in its practice which means the agency is looking for a new hire that will come in to help support the current book of business and serve as the main point of contact on new business.  To step into a new role a qualified person must have enough property and casualty technical knowledge to work independently and handle everything involving the administration of policies post-binding from billing and claims to renewal marketing.

Commercial Account Manager Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary client service point of contact to the insured handling a host of different issues that come up including changes in exposure, additions and cancellations of policies, billing and claims concerns, renewal preparation and marketing; creating RFPs and communicating with the sales team on updates pre-closing.
  • Answer questions about coverage and pricing, create and execute the renewal cycle, coordinate all renewal marketing and create RFPs.
  • Be a resource for producers and client service colleagues concerning markets, coverage issues and claims.
Commercial Account Manager Qualifications:
  • At least five (5) years of commercial insurance experience as an Account Manager or Account Executive.  Underwriting experience will be considered but you must offer some career experience for a retail agency in a client service role.
  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred; pursuance of continuing education like CIC, AU or ARM is highly desired.
  • Large account experience exceeding $100k-$200k in premium.
  • Broad coverage proficiency in general liability, commercial auto, large property, and workers compensation.
  • State insurance license.

Commercial Insurance Account Manager-Chicago, IL

Our client is a professional independent insurance brokerage focused on building continuous relationships with clients. They are a relationship driven firm seeking a knowledgeable commercial insurance professional to join the agency in a support role.  This position, Commercial Insurance Account Manager, is an opportunity for someone with rating and account management experience. This is a customer service position in an office setting that will work closely with the producers and other account managers.

Commercial Insurance Account Manager Responsibilities:
  • You’ll work in a customer service team that is assigned manage insurance policies for commercial businesses where policy updating and insurance renewal preparation is handled.
  • You’ll be responsible for data entry, processing certificates and auto id cards, requesting policy changes and gathering information from the client to compile renewal submissions.
  • Marketing and online rating, compiling submissions and preparing proposals.

Commercial Insurance Account Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of insurance agency experience as a customer service representative or account manager.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel; prior agency management systems experience in AMS or Sagitta is helpful.
  • State insurance license or able to obtain one shortly upon hire.

This position will immediately impact the agency through new business production. You’ll put yourself in a position through individual contribution to provide strategic direction to other business development and marketing initiatives.

Commercial Insurance Producer Responsibilities:
  • Establish a three year business development plan targeting accounts within your personal network along with capitalizing on cross selling opportunities with the agency’s commercial lines team.
  • Identify target markets outside of the greater Columbus and Cincinnati areas to expand the agency’s sales footprint; this can include other in-state markets or regional opportunities with mid-sized, risk management business.
