Our client is a respected independent insurance agency with several consultative solutions for businesses desiring knowledge, education and cost savings for group medical insurance. Self-funded group medical plans are especially important for larger businesses employing several hundred employees or more. This position, Group Benefits Analyst, works within the agency's group employee benefits service team to analyze health insurance data in preparation for submission and renewal.
Group Benefits Analyst Responsibilities:
Prepare market packets for new and existing clients with pre-underwriting analysis, census data, quote specifications and the insured's benefits history.
Work closely with TPAs and actuarial consulting firms to analyze claims history, pricing and market trends.
Review return quotations for accuracy and competitiveness; take the lead on negotiations with insurance companies; prepare proposals to include cost summary analysis.
Take on some account management duties and participate in resolving client issues.
Group Benefits Analyst Qualifications:
College degree preferred.
At least three (3) years of marketing, client service or plan analysis for a group benefits insurance agency or consulting firm.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with insurance company underwriters.
Comfortable compiling raw data into presentations designed for the client's insurance review.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
