Deputy General Counsel-Des Moines, IA

In this role you will be responsible for management of the company's litigation and its communication with insurance regulators and for providing legal support to the company's new business, policyholder resolution, agency services, suitability, compliance, and marketing areas.  It is an exciting opportunity to work with the EVP, General Counsel to shape the legal department of a vibrant, growing insurance company in the Midwest.

Deputy General Counsel Responsibilities:
  • Directly manage the legal department staff, including staff attorneys and legal staff.
  • Counsel business partners on complex and routine legal questions relating to various litigation, insurance, regulatory, securities, and business issues.
  • Participate in the team that responds to market conduct examinations and policyholder complaints.
  • Assist in supervising compliance with regulatory requirements on the state and federal level.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Deputy General Counsel Requirements:
  • Requires J.D. degree with an exemplary academic record in college and law school, plus at least seven years of relevant legal experience.
  • In-house experience within insurance environment preferred, with SEC experience a huge plus.

Operations Manager Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel to accommodate growth and new product.
  • Direct functions, staff and systems necessary to provide pre/post sales administration and client service.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate procedures and controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency and productivity are maintained for all work performed within operations team.
  • Maintain and cultivate strong carrier relationships.
  • Work closely with sales team on complex cases, compliance issues and service questions.
  • Responsible for all compliance questions, complaints and issues that involve wholesaling groups or their agents.
  • Liaison between operations team, sales team and insurance carriers.


Operations Manager Requirements:
  • Strong background and work experience in Insurance Carrier Back Office Operations, Financial Services and/or Securities is a must.
  • Expertise in policy issuance, generation and management of insurance documents, client service.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Wealth Management Advisor-Iowa City, IA

Our client offers highly sophisticated financial planning capabilities designed to help clients accomplish their immediate and long term investment goals. The ideal candidate will have outstanding relationship management skills, solid financial service product knowledge, and proven sales skills that can be leveraged to develop a profitable book of business.


Wealth Management Advisor Responsibilities:


  • Serve as the primary point of contact for High Net Worth and affluent clients.
  • Manage and develop an assigned book of business.
  • Grow the book of business through identifying value-added products and services for clients, identifying and acquiring client assets held outside of the platform, and developing additional business through client referrals.
  • Build and solidify client relationships pre and post retirement through a distinctive experience that leverages the unique value proposition of the business.


Wealth Management Advisor Requirements:


  • Ten or more years of proven relationship management and sales experience providing financial planning services to HNW clients.
  • Strong track record in generating sales and a broad background in retirement products, general investment matters, and applicable tax and estate planning issues.
  • Good computer skills that include working with the Microsoft Office suite, CRM, and proprietary systems.
  • NASD Series 7 or 66 (or combination of 63 and 65) licenses required.
  • Resident state insurance license and non-resident licenses for all states in which the employee will sell insurance products within six months of assuming the position.
