Managing Producer - Commercial or Employee Benefits - Tupelo, MS

One of my best clients is looking for a strong sales producer that can step into an immediate leadership role.  Here's the scoop.  Our client needs an accomplished sales person that is very consultative and has a strong coverage background.  This person will be responsible for developing business but the primary goal will be to consult with existing clients to further develop business.  They play in the middle market arena and are open to someone coming from the benefits or commercial side of the house.  The real key is that this needs to be someone that is comfortable being the face of the organization.

Managing Producer - Commercial or Employee Benefits
Our client is an established independent broker with large scale business operations in Mississippi and surrounding states.  With the resources to insure a multitude of commercial, life and health and personal insurance risks, they have the capacity to provide programs for clients on a national scale. The Tupelo office will be the centerpiece of the agency's work in northeast Mississippi.  A strong leadership presence will bring cohesion between the agency's Mid-South and Gulf Coast operations.

VP, Managing Producer Responsibilities:
You're responsible for achieving personal new business sales goals; you'll develop and manage other producers by example of your own production.
You'll play an active role in total client consultation, working closely with the service staff and shared agency resources to provide the appropriate risk management, claims and marketing advocacy.
You'll be the face of the agency's operations in northeast Mississippi by furthering marketing relationships, referral streams with local business professionals and become active in community organizations.
You'll weigh in on strategic decisions that affect the Tupelo office, from decisions on P&L to staff training, product diversification and new employee hires.

VP, Managing Producer Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree is required.
At least seven (7) years of independent agency sales experience; expertise can be either in commercial lines or group employee benefits provided your expertise is not in small group but middle market/mid-sized group business.
Ability to assume non-sales responsibilities like operations, marketing and employee development including producer training.
Can create and execute a business plan that thrusts the agency's new business revenue towards middle market accounts in the general region spanning northern Mississippi, Memphis, Little Rock and Birmingham.
Entrepreneurial; can reach out and ask for resources; understands how to draw in other divisions like group benefits, HR, loss control and claims to create a consultative service platform.
