Hi All! This is a really good article about interviewing. It is short and sweet and worth the read:
Job Interview Myths
You should definitely check it out. The best part is how it describes that you shouldn't assume that an interviewer is prepared for the interview. This is something that is really important to remember throughout the entire interviewing process. When people are in a job search it totally consumes them and often times they assume that making the hire is equally as important to the company as it is to the candidate.
The reality is that companies still have to run their business while trying to navigate hiring someone and no matter how important making a hire is they have more pressing needs. Remember this as you go through the process. If a company doesn't call you back immediately it doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't interested. They just might have other things going on. The same thing goes when you are in the interview. Don't be insulted that the interviewer hasn't taken the time to read your resume soup to nuts. It is not meant as a slight. Your resume is meant for one purpose and one purpose only - to get the interview. From there it is up to you to nail the interview.
