This is a terrific opportunity for a well respected independent agency in the Midwest.  Our  client is looking for a transformative sales leader that can take their practice to the next level.  Their desire is to find someone that can help redesign their practice and grow it significantly.  The right person will have a strong sales management background a strong consultative vision.  Additionally they are open to someone coming from the agency or carrier side.  

Employee Benefits Practice Leader
Our client is a regional, independent agency constantly seeking new ways to drive middle market business.  The agency believes innovation is driven through strong leaders and successful producers.  The group benefits practice is in need of a visionary sales leader.  This position, VP, Group Employee Benefits Practice Leader, has tremendous authority to design what the agency's future benefits practice will look like as well as what types of sales and service staff are needed to achieve those goals.   Seeking leadership in the group life and health insurance team, this position is critical to the company's ongoing success and efficiency in sales, customer service and marketing.

Group Employee Benefits Practice Leader Responsibilities:
Oversee all product offerings, new business development and account retention strategies.
Provide a vision and growth plan for how the company will remain profitable and how the division will expand its capabilities in group medical, ancillary lines and special programs.
Promote interdepartmental resource sharing, identify opportunities for cross selling and capitalize on similar association marketing; additionally, make the most of technological resources and vendor relationships.
Establish a sales culture that will attract the best sales talent and maximize each employee's capabilities. 
Solidify the agency's branding; capitalize on opportunities to maintain a competitive advantage in the market.

Group Employee Benefits Practice Leader Qualifications:
At least 10-15 years of progressive group life and health insurance experience; experience in leadership for an agency, brokerage or consulting firm is critical.
Successful history of change management within a sales organization, i.e. creating a sales culture.
Be a hands-on manager; enjoy direct management of administrative staff; also, desire to work alongside producers in the field helping to originate new business through your personal networks and close accounts through a team based sales approach.
Understand ways to distinguish the agency through customer service, technology, special product offerings, association marketing, client communication strategies and alternative funding programs.
